About MetaFlows

MetaFlows Inc. is a privately held California corporation founded in 2007 by a team of experienced entrepreneurs with a track record for successfully bringing new network security products and technologies to market.

Driven by the idea of security-as-a-service (SecaaS), MetaFlows is pioneering the use of security-as-a-service concepts to reduce the cost and complexity of network security monitoring and compliance verification. The company’s first product, The MetaFlows Security System, secures both on‐site and cloud‐based enterprise assets with an innovative Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) featuring Log Management and Flow Analysis capabilities.

To date, MetaFlows has over 300 subscribers around the world and is growing every month.

MetaFlows is also the winner of a prestigious grant from the National Science Foundation for the groundbreaking research and development by our CEO and chief research scientist, Livio Ricciulli.

MetaFlows enjoys a close collaboration with the Cyber-TA (www.cyber-ta.org) consortium, which is funded by the Army Research Office and boasts an outstanding roster of world-class scientists from across the country.

MetaFlows actively funds the open security community Emerging Threats, the world’s only successful public repository of rule sets for Snort and other intrusion detection systems.

In 2011, MetaFlows was accepted as a Solutions Partner with Amazon Web Services. The MetaFlows Security System can run on an Amazon EC2 instance and lets customers become security compliant in minutes.

2011 has also seen MetaFlows become a Solutions Partner with VMWare. The libraries from the MetaFlows Security System have been published in the VMWare Partner Catalog for use with vSphere 4.0 (ESX/ESXi/vCenter 4.0).

In addition to reducing cost and complexity, MetaFlows simplifies security event analysis by anonymously correlating network intelligence across administrative domains and prioritizing security events with a novel and proprietary threat-ranking algorithm. This enables network operators to more easily identify, prioritize and resolve potential security violations without being overwhelmed by the volume of event data received.
